What is the mission of NOLA Vox?

Our mission is "Enriching Lives Through Vocal Harmony in New Orleans." We aim to reflect the rich cultural gumbo of our city through music and community.

Who can join NOLA Vox?

NOLA Vox is open to singers of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just love to sing, there’s a place for you here.

What kind of music do you perform?

Our repertoire spans all genres, with a special focus on New Orleans artists and musical styles, including traditional barbershop harmony and modern a cappella.

When and where are rehearsals?

Rehearsals are typically held twice a month on Thursdays from 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM at:

St. John Lutheran's Gym
3937 Canal Street, New Orleans
(Corner of S. Pierce & Iberville)
Parking is available on the street and in lots adjacent to and across from the gym.

Our full calendar is available here.

Our Seasons run from August to May.

Do I have to audition?

No formal audition is required to join NOLA Vox. However, all new members must complete a voicing session with our director, Cassie, to determine vocal placement. This can be done in person or virtually.

While there is no audition to become a member, members must meet the director's performance requirements in order to participate in public performances.

What are the expectations for singers?

  • You’ll receive digital sheet music and learning tracks.

  • Singers print their own music or use tablets/phones at rehearsal.

  • Rehearsals are structured and planned in advance—come prepared by reviewing your music beforehand.

  • We ask all members to attend rehearsals and performances with a mindset of growth and collaboration.

Is there a cost to join?

There is no required membership fee to be a part of NOLA Vox. However, we embrace a culture of philanthropy—we ask all members to be generous with their time, talent, and treasure as they are able.
