New Orleans Youth Harmony Festival

Where young voices find harmony

Holy Name of Jesus School and NOLA Vox proudly present the New Orleans Youth Harmony Festival, a two-day immersive musical experience dedicated to nurturing young singers and celebrating the rich tradition of harmony singing in our city. Designed for student musicians, the festival introduces four-part a cappella and barbershop harmony—styles that build strong musicianship, sharpen listening skills, and inspire confidence through collaboration.

Hosted at Holy Name of Jesus School, this inaugural festival launches a new annual youth-focused harmony initiative that will continue to grow across New Orleans, connecting schools, educators, and professional artists in meaningful musical partnership.

Festival Experience

Over two days, students participate in engaging workshops focused on tuning, blend, vowel matching, resonance, and expressive singing. Friday centers on foundational harmony skills and sectional learning, while Saturday deepens the experience with combined rehearsals alongside members of NOLA Vox and the festival’s featured clinicians. The weekend culminates in a celebratory community concert showcasing the students’ growth and artistry.

Featured Clinicians

The festival is led by Brouhaha Quartet, an award-winning ensemble known for excellence in four-part harmony and dynamic educational outreach. Through hands-on coaching, live demonstrations, and interactive learning, Brouhaha helps young singers discover how individual voices come together to create unified, resonant sound.

Community Concert

The festival concludes with a public performance featuring:

  • The Holy Name Chorus

  • NOLA Vox

  • Brouhaha Quartet

This joyful concert brings together students, families, educators, and music lovers to celebrate shared learning and the power of harmony.

Support & Impact

The New Orleans Youth Harmony Festival is proudly underwritten by New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, NOLA Vox, and Holy Name of Jesus School. Their support ensures students have access to high-quality music education, professional mentorship, and an inspiring artistic experience that extends well beyond the festival weekend.

A New Tradition Begins

The New Orleans Youth Harmony Festival marks the beginning of a long-term vision: building a citywide youth harmony program that introduces students to the joy, discipline, and community of a cappella singing. Here, young voices find harmony—and a new generation of singers discovers the lasting impact of making music together.
